Yuen Yuen Ang is the Alfred Chandler Chair Professor of Political Economy at Johns Hopkins University. A multi-award-winning author, her work marries deep China expertise with big-picture insights on global transformation and thought. Prakhar Misra - Substack Manager

Prakhar is a Ph.D. candidate in International Political Economy at School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. His research interests are in state capacity with a specific focus on structures of administration and state building. Prior to this, he was a public policy researcher with Mercatus Centre and Artha Global Advisors. He has a Masters in Public Policy from University of Oxford, Post-graduate Diploma in Economics and Finance from Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics and undergraduate degree in Engineering from Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

Emika Otsuka - Program Manager

Emika is currently a second-year Master’s student at the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. Her research interests include East Asian security and the global energy transition. Prior to her graduate studies, Emika spent four years at Mitsubishi Corporation, a leading Japanese trading house, where she specialized in accounting and iron ore trading. She earned her Bachelor’s in Political Science and International Relations from Carleton College in MN, USA.

Kaushar Barejiya - Events

Kaushar is a first-year MA student at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where she focuses on comparative politics, governance, and the political economy of the Middle East and North Africa. At SAIS, she is deepening her academic research on foreign interventions, post-war governance, and international human rights, and plans to pursue law after graduation to continue working at the intersection of law and public policy. She earned a BA in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and brings experience across the nonprofit sector, a congressional office, and a policy and public affairs consulting firm.

Adeola Ojuade - AI & Technology

Adeola is a 21-year-old computer science student at Johns Hopkins University, specializing in artificial intelligence, user experience, and data science. She is passionate about building software that not only works well but also makes a meaningful social impact. She has led and collaborated on projects through internships, academic work, and hackathons, always focusing on creating tech that solves problems.
